Marist cricket carnival handbook

At the conclusion of the carnival, the Marist Netball Team has an opportunity to explore the sights surrounding the host school. The Marist Basketball Carnival is yet another celebration of the strength of the Marist network across Australia. Over the course of the Carnival, students from Newman College compete against basketball teams from across the country.

Sharing experiences opens our students eyes to life outside of our College, but also fosters an understanding of the broader Marist community of which they are a part. Started 50 years ago, there are now three carnivals held concurrently around Australia with 20 Marist schools competing. Schools come from all mainland states plus one from Auckland, New Zealand. This a fantastic opportunity to not only play in a top class competition but enjoy all that an interstate tour brings.

It is about giving students the opportunity to compete against students from other primary schools, promoting fun and enjoyment, encouraging everyone to participate and highlighting the importance of fair play and healthy competition. Sport is an integrated program where students participate in a variety of sports, within their base classes, conducted by outside staff as well as trained teachers. These bring out the best in House Spirit from the four participating Houses.
